Here’s a tidbit of information about me that you probably don’t know unless you are related, I’ve told you or you shared in my near death experience.
It isn’t any news that I am a nerd. Although I think I’m an interesting, eclectic nerd. I also have a great amount of patience, except with computer “issues” such as motherboard shorts, software malfunctions and internet maintenance issues.
As you know, I started a forum called BLOGNTWEET. It is going great and growing daily much to my excitement. Everyone is so pleasant and the networking is fun. I log in every day for hours and hours. Sometimes I even log in and leave it running in the background while I listen to the music I uploaded on the home page.
Last night when I got home and while dinner was cooking, I tried to log into BLOGNTWEET and discovered that I it was impossible. I got a message that basically said, “YOU DO NOT EXIST”.
That’s when the other person took over my body and I began to panic. All I could think about was all the work I had put into setting it up being wasted and that I had no way to communicate to all the people who had joined.
I guess normal people would just fill out a service ticket and continue on with their evening.
I’m not normal.
The panic increased and I lost my mind in a whirl of panicked service requests and Google research. The keyboard was on fire with my fingers typing like a woman gone mad. In a way, having a panic attack actually makes you feel a bit insane.
A great definition of a panic attack is “an episode of intense fear or apprehension that is of sudden onset…with a discrete period of intense fear or discomfort in which (at least 4 of 13) symptoms develop abruptly and reach a peak within ten minutes.” Perfect description!
The good news is that the forum is up and running smoothly again and I am back to my normal blogging and tweeting OCDness. I think they should add that word to the dictionary.
Now that I am relaxed and happy, I discovered all kinds of things that I forgot to do yesterday and remembered other times that this type of panic has taken over my personality and life.
Do you panic? What do you panic about or what has to happen to make you panic? Do you have more self-control and simply keep your wits about you at all times? How do you cope with panic? I would love to hear your suggestions in length.
Now, I am going to slide on over to BLOGNTWEET and talk to all those lovely people who have joined. Have you joined yet? Do you recognize any of the people in the pictures? Do you know which are the authors, mompreneurs, or homeschool master?
