frothy strawberry milkshake is richly sweet

A rich and creamy milkshake is completely satisfying for a thirsty sweet craving. It is hard to beat the comfort of delicious ice cream, but couple it with a few ingredients and the sweet confection becomes absolute perfection for the taste buds.

Perfect Strawberry Milkshake Recipe

Making the perfect strawberry milkshake can be accomplished with just a few steps. The secret in making this milkshake perfect is truly in the ingredients.

If you are going to consume a milkshake, you aren’t worried about calories at the moment. I say that because two of the ingredients in this milkshake are very rich and therefore, very fattening. These two ingredients are whipping cream and half and half.

half and half whipping cream

The healthy part of the milkshake is very red, ripe strawberries. You know the kind…when you bite into one, the sweet juice drips down your chin and fingers and the flesh is red throughout the berry. So take the leaves off the top and rough chop the strawberries.

Add the whipping cream and half and half to the blender. Now add the chocolate syrup. You can’t really taste the chocolate in the end product, but it adds another layer of richness because the milky creams just aren’t rich enough. LOL

Turn the blender on high and mix until the milk is frothy.

You’ll have the richest chocolate milk you’ve ever tasted, but don’t drink it yet!

Now add some vanilla bean ice cream. Make sure you get the ice cream that you can actually see the dark flecks of vanilla beans. Mmmmm….

Add the ice cream to the blender and mix it well. If you like thick milkshakes, add lots of ice cream and if you like your milkshake thinner, add less ice cream. Just use a little common sense!

mix ice cream for desired thickness

Next, add the delicious red, juicy strawberries. Turn the blender on and watch the milkshake turn pink. If you like a few strawberry chunks, mix less and if you don’t want any large strawberries in your milkshake, blend longer.

When you are finished mixing up the milkshake, pour it into two frosted glasses and garnish each with a strawberry.

So you have one milkshake for yourself and one to share! It is like when you play a card game of Old Maid. One for you and one for me. Of course, when my sister was little girl, it would have been, one for me and one for me. She was such a sweet-treataholic and had no concept of sharing anything delicious. Wait a minute. Did I say, “was” a sweet-treataholic. Um…she still IS a a sweet-treataholic! If neither of us had to worry about weighing 1,000 pounds, I wonder who could consume more ice cream?

Anyway, if you want your milkshake, you better hurry because if she doesn’t get it, I will probably drink both of them!
