The Redhead Riter Turns 50 And Has A Full Day Planned

by Sherry Riter in Holiday,Sherry,The Redhead Riter

Happy Birthday 50 Sherry Redhead

At first I was going to work on my birthday. But after thinking about it for awhile, I decided that hitting the half century mark was truly worth celebrating. Instead of going to work today, I have a full day of relaxation and pampering scheduled. I haven’t really had a pampering day in a very, very long time. I got the idea of pampering myself when I was writing the post about how to make deep moisturizing hair conditioner that is hypoallergenic and completely grain free.

“Maybe it’s true that life begins at fifty
But everything else starts to wear out,
fall out, or spread out.”
~ Phyllis Diller ~

Phyllis Diller is probably right, but turning 50 years old is something to celebrate especially for me. I’ve come a long way over the last three years. I actually didn’t think I would make it, so I’m proud of myself for persevering through all the trauma and pain. Yes, I’m very proud of myself.

I hope you all have a great day too. I’ll take lots of pictures so that I can share my birthday with you. Until then, follow the words and let me hear you all sing together now…

Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday dear Sherry!
Happy Birthday to you!

Have a wonderful birthday Sherry! I hope that every one of your wishes come true. Yes, I did use plural when referring to wishes, because I’m sure there are more than one…lol.

Happy birthday! And may you be blessed with many, many more!

An Irish birthday blessing for you:

May you live a long life
Full of gladness and health
With a pocket full of gold
As the least of your wealth
May the dreams you hold dearest
Be those which come true
May the kindness you spread,
Keep returning to you.

And a saying that I thought was both funny and sweet and I couldn’t resist:

Beautiful young people are acts of nature, but beautiful old people are works of art.

And you are, Sherry, a work of art, not old. :)

It is true, life truly begins for a woman after she turns fifty! Let me name just a few of the many joys you can now look forward to:

1. You no longer care what other people think of you, because what they think of you is their own perception and has much more to do with who they are and how they view the world than who you really are. (Of course, if they think that you are beautiful, fabulous, talented, gifted, brilliant, thoughtful, kind, loving, giving and a great writer then their perception of you is right on target and they are kindred spirits, but if they think otherwise they are morons!)

2. You are finally comfortable with the woman you have become and you realize that you are enough just the way you are. In fact, YOU ARE MORE THAN ENOUGH!

3. Now that you are fifty, you have learned from your past mistakes, (or shall we say past experiences ;) ), and you now appreciate yourself, accept yourself, and yes, you even love yourself, (or you are in the process of learning how to love yourself. I say process because as women we spend so much of our lives loving our children and others that we tend to forget that it is important to love ourselves too.)

So these are a few of the things you can look forward to. Enjoy your day of pampering, Sherry! You deserve it! And enjoy your fiftieth birthday! Happy Birthday, dear Sherry, the best is yet to come! :)

Well Joan…

1. “You no longer care what other people think of you” If that happens, it will definitely be a HUMONGOUS change!
2. “YOU ARE MORE THAN ENOUGH!” Tell that to the chocolate man (http://www.theredheadriter.com/2010/03/chuckle-of-day-men-and-chocolate/) so he will visit me! LOL
3. “Now that you are fifty, you have learned from your past mistakes” You can say that again! “Now that you are fifty, you have learned from your past mistakes” LOL

I did have a lovely day, Joan! Thank you!!!! {{hugsss}}
